Taejongdae (太宗臺) is a scenic spot located in Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo-gu, Busan. It is a hilly area located at the southeastern end of Yeongdo Island at an altitude of less than 200 meters above sea level, and is a spectacular place with a dense forest rarely seen in Busan, a sea cliff made of rocky monoliths from the Gyeongsangsangnam-do Nudong Formation, and a blue sea. On a clear day, you can even see Tsushima Island in Japan. On November 1, 2005, it was designated as Korea's No. 17 scenic spot.

Taejongdae is a spectacular site that combines dense forests rarely seen in the Busan area, seaside cliffs made of bizarre rock formations from the Yucheon Formation of the Gyeongsangnam-do Nucheon Formation, and azure waters.

The steep walls of the Jeollyeong Coastal Walk reveal a unique village scene. This is where the tender lives of the evacuees began, and where the cultural village community, Huinnyeoul Cultural Village, is now located.

At the Haenyeo Culture Center, you can learn about the history of haenyeo fishing and the lives of haenyeo. 
On the first floor of the Yeongdo Haenyeo Culture Exhibition Center is the Haenyeo Village. The characteristic feature of Yeongdo Jungri Haenyeo Village is the gimbap served among the seafood.  When you visit Haenyeo Village, you can experience the unique flavors of seafood and gimbap together.

The ocean in front of the skywalk is beautiful and colorful at times, making it a photogenic spot, and on a clear day, it's the closest you'll get to seeing the island.
