1. National Museum of Korea

The War Memorial of Korea, located in Yongsan, Seoul, is a large complex dedicated to remembering the military history of Korea, with a particular focus on the Korean War (1950-1953). The memorial honors the soldiers who fought for the country and educates visitors about the struggles Korea has faced in maintaining peace and security.
It features both indoor and outdoor exhibitions, including life-sized tanks, planes, and artillery. One of the highlights is the Korean War exhibition hall, where visitors can see artifacts, photographs, and personal stories from the war. Interactive displays and videos help visitors better understand the conflict's impact on Korea and the world. 2. The War Memorial of Korea

The National Museum of Korean Contemporary History is located near Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. It covers Korea’s history from the late 19th century to the present day, offering insights into the country's transformation through colonial rule, the Korean War, and its rise as a democratic nation.
The museum is divided into four main exhibition halls. The first covers the period of Japanese colonial rule (1910–1945), highlighting the struggles for independence. The second hall focuses on Korea’s path to democracy and the Korean War. The third hall explores Korea’s economic and cultural development post-war, showing how the country became one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. The final hall looks at modern-day Korea and its role on the global stage.

3. National Museum of Korean Contemporary History

The National Folk Museum of Korea, located within the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace, focuses on the everyday lives of Korean people throughout history. The museum is divided into three main exhibition halls.
The first hall covers the history and culture of the Korean people from ancient times to the Joseon dynasty. It features household items, clothing, and farming tools, giving visitors a glimpse into traditional life. The second hall showcases Korea’s seasonal customs, festivals, and family rituals, demonstrating the deep connection between nature and daily life. The third hall is dedicated to Korea’s traditional lifestyle, with reconstructions of village houses, markets, and workplaces.

4. National Folk Museum of Korea

5. Seoul Museum of History

The Hanok Living Museum, located within Bukchon Hanok Village, allows visitors to experience traditional Korean life in a preserved Hanok (traditional Korean house). The museum is designed to offer hands-on activities and experiences such as making traditional crafts, learning about Hanok architecture, and understanding the lifestyle of Koreans who lived in these homes.
Visitors can explore the interior of a Hanok, complete with Ondol (traditional underfloor heating system), and see how space was utilized in a typical Korean household. The surrounding Bukchon Hanok Village is a beautiful, preserved area of traditional homes that offers a serene experience in the midst of the bustling city.
